Decidí hacer una versión más simple de mi página ya que no tengo el tiempo ni el mismo interes de crearla que tenía al principio cuando la hice. The inevitable happens, Syfy cancelled Stargate Universe. I’m sad but not surprise. It was an awesome concept that doesn’t reach it’s potential. Sadly I think it was kind of doomed since the beginning. They have great actors, a great story in the Destiny’s story but forget the most important thing. Their part of a franchise, a succesful one and decide to distance themselves from the winning formula to copy another one. Well that cost them at the very beginning of the series the fan base. The story will have been a lot different is they follow the story a la Stargate. It’s great to bring new ideas to refresh things but thinking on the fan base you already have. That will only help you to win new ones. They even copy that of the other, and sadly that cost them. Because is not a secret that the other remade something without any consideration to the fan base, the result they only live four seasons. You have a winning formula, Stargate SG1(10 seasons) and Stargate Atlantis(5 seasons), why change it to one that obviously was short live. That’s something I would never understand, although I continue to think that it was pressure from outside(Syfy). So I’m sad because SGU could have been so much more and sadly it was getting there slowly. Kudos to Mallozzi & Mullie that I personally think were the ones responsible to keep them breathing for a long time. The up and down rollercoaster of the episodes never help them much specially with low ones like Visitation, Cloverdale etc. The first season was too slow and that contributed to this, at the end it pick up and Season 2 was much more better even with the not so good episodes in it. So I’m sad because I think it was getting there slowly, that was one of their problems since the beginning. Too slow and the soap opera episodes kill it. So, I’m sad because they cancelled SGU but I’m devastated to see a franchise end. Hopefully is in hiatus and we will see another Stargate in the future, one that follows the winning formula and forget that other galaxy that is in the same channel and trying desperately to be a success after alienating the fan base of an awesome franchise. Tips to Stargate writers for the future(is there is a future), they killed their own franchise so don’t copy obviously the result is you end killing yours too. So sadly, Stargate joins another awesome franchise Star Trek in a black hole somewhere in the universe. Hopefully we could see the two revive in a not so far future.
Ok, that’s all I have to say about my beloved franchise. It will be deeply missed. Time to talk about happier things. Let’s see, I finished reading Vampire Hunter D Raiser of Gales. Love it, I have to admit that I love this series even with the translation. But as I say before, I don’t know japanese so I’m glad that I could enjoy it. And surely translate from japanese to english have to be very difficult. So Kudos and keep it because I just love D, his character is so cool. I love the mystery that surround him and how it is maintain in the novles. We know some things about him but others still are a mystery. I love knowing something new as I read about him. So looking forward to read Demon Deathchase the next volume.
In the games front, after years of pondering to play the Gabriel Knight series I finally get to it. ja,ja,ja.. It was a long time pondering I know. And wow, I really should have do it a long time ago. Love it! I already play Sins of The Fathers and recently finished The Beast Within(my favorite). Both are awesome, of course I enjoy The Beast Within more but only because is a FMV(Full Motion Video) and I love games like that. It reminds me of some of my all time favorites like Wing Commander, Privateer, Tex Murphy and X-Files. It was awesome, love the story. So pros: story, visuals(specially Von Glower) ja,ja,ja…, great actors makes the characters more alive(specially Von Glower again). Is an old game so the visuals are not like today but I find it awesome. Is truly an adventure that involve you in the story till the outcome. Cons: it ends and there are no more Gabriel Knight games. Awesome character reminds me of George Stobbart from Broken Sword. My favorite of all times. So, now I plan to play the last of the series Blood of The Sacred, Blood of the Damned.
And crossing fingers that Santa brings me some of the books and games in my waiting list. ja,ja,ja…..
Lo inevitalbe pasó, Syfy canceló Stargate Universe. Estoy triste pero no sorprendida. Fue un estúpendo concepto que nunca alcanzó su potencial. Tristemente pienso que estaba destinada al fracaso desde el principio. Tenían excelentes actores, una gran historia en la historia de Destiny pero olvidaron lo más importante. Son parte de una franquicia exitosa y decidieron distanciarse de la formula ganadora para imitar otra. Eso les costó al principio de la serie la base de fans. La historia hubiera sido muy diferente si hubieran seguido la historia a la Stargate. Es estúpendo traer nuevas ideas para refrescar la franquicia pero pensando en la base de fans que ya tienes que a la larga te va a ayudar a conseguir nuevos. Hasta eso se copiaron de los otros, y tristemente les costó caro. Porque no es un secreto que los otros se reinventaron una franquicia sin tomar en consideración su base de fans, el resultado, sólo duraron cuatro temporadas. Ustedes tienen una formula ganadora Stargate SG1(10 temporadas) y Stargate Atlantis(5 temporadas) porque cambiar el estilo a algo que duró tan poco. Es algo que nunca entenderé, aunque sigo pensando que hubo presión de afuera(Syfy). Así que estoy triste porque SGU pudo ser mucho más y pienso que estaba llegando a ese punto aunque lentamente. Kudos a Mallozzi & Mullie que personalmente creo que fueron los que contribuyeron a mantenerla respirando el tiempo que estuvo. El sube y baja de los episodios nunca los ayudó mucho especialmente con episodios como Visitation, Cloverdale etc. La primera temporada fue muy lenta y contribuyó grandemente a este resultado. Al final cogió impulso y la segunda temporada fue mucho mejor aún con los episodios no tan buenos en ella. Así que estoy triste porque creo que estaban subiendo poco a poco la calidad pero tal vez ya era muy tarde y lo lento de la trama al principio y los episodios tipo novela le dieron el golpe final. Así que estoy triste porque cancelarón SGU pero estoy devastada de ver el final de una franquicia. Mi esperanza es que se vaya en hiatus y veamos otro Stargate en el futuro, uno que siga la formula ganadora que nos hizo amar esta franquicia y que olvide la otra galaxia que esta en el mismo canal tratando de ser éxitosa luego de alienar a toda la base de fans de otra estúpenda franquicia. Tips a los escritores de Stargate para el futuro(si es que hay futuro), ellos destruyeron su propia franquicia así que no hay nada que copiar obviamente el resultado es que terminas destruyendo la tuya también. Tristemente ahora Stargate se une a otra estúpenda franquicia, Star Trek en un hoyo negro en alguna parte del universo. Mi esperanza es que podamos ver las dos revivir en un futuro no muy lejano.
Ok, eso es todo lo que tengo que decir de mi amada franquicia. Me va a hacer falta inmensamente. Tiempo de hablar de cosas más alegres. Veamos, terminé de leer Vampire Hunter D Raise of Gales. Me encantó. Tengo que admitir que amo esta serie aún con la traducción. Pero como dije antes, no se japónes así que estoy féliz de poder disfrutarla. Y estoy segura que traducir algo de japónes a inglés debe ser díficil. Así que Kudos, y siganlo porque amo a D, su personaje es estúpendo. Me encanta el misterio que lo rodea y como se mantiene según progresa la historia. Sabemos algunas cosas pero otras siguen siendo un misterio, me encanta aprender algo nuevo según voy leyendo. Así que esperando con ansias poder leer Demon Deathchase la próxima en la serie.
En cuanto a juegos, luego de años considerando jugar la serie de Gabriel Knight finalmente lo hice. ja,ja,ja… Fue un largo tiempo considerandolo lo sé. Y Wow! debi hacerlo hace tiempo. Me encanta. Hace un tiempo jugé Sins of The Father y recientemente terminé The Beast Within(mi favorito). Ambos son estúpendos, disfruté The Beast Within más pero es porque es FMV(Full Motion Video) y me encantan los juegos así. Me recuerda algunos de mis favoritos de siempre como Wing Commander, Privateer, Tex Murphy y X-Files. Es estúpendo y la historia me encanta. Los pro’s: la historia, los visuales(especialmente Von Glower ja,ja,ja….), excelentes actores que hacen los personajes más reales(especialmente Von Glower de nuevo). Es un juego viejo y los visuales no son como ahora pero me encantó. Es una aventura que te sumerge en la historia por completo hasta llegar a la conclusión. Cons: se terminó y no hay más juegos de Gabriel Knight. Estúpendo personaje me recuerda a otro de mis favoritos de siempre, George Stobbart de Broken Sword. Así que ahora pues pienso jugar el último juego de la serie, Blood of The Sacred, Blood of the Damned.
Bueno, y cruzando los dedos para que Santa me traiga alguno de los libros y juegos en mi lista de espera. ja,ja,ja….

Thanks to Halloween, I get to play Alter Ego one of the games in my Waiting List. I found it at a very good halloween price special. ja,ja,ja…. So I couldn’t resist. So, the game is good and have possibilities to be great but left me puzzled. The pros: story, characters, graphics. It get your attention from the beginning, great mystery. The cons: the end, it was like looking a good plot, story revealing a secret to suddenly been cut to the end title. Definitely frustrating, so is there is no second part, poor Tim. Or should I say poor Detective Bristol more. Is there is going to be a second part is kind of understandable although too abrupt. I hope there is a second part because one of the things that puzzled me during the game is Tim’s medallion. Since the beginning it looks like something important with a secret to reveal about him, but as the game progress it never develops into anything and is interesting that in the trailer of the game also was prominent. So hopefully it will have another part because is this is it what a dissapointment. In all is a good game, only that it left you waiting for the answers. I specially like how all the description of the murders etc.. slowvly was looking like it was a vampire. Still right now I wonder is that was the case. ja,ja,ja…
Warning! Is you haven’t see Spooks season 9 or Stargate Universe episode 7 The Greater Good stop reading. There are mayor spoilers ahead. You have been warned.
As for series, this season 9 of Spooks have been simply amazing, episode after episode have me at the edge of my seat. I was dreading the conclusion because of the storyline about Lucas, so bye bye Lucas you will be missed. Of course, we didn’t see a body so they could bring him back ja,ja,ja… After all there are many ways you can explain a scream and an alarm sound. One of them, he didn’t jump, he goes to the street steal a poor girl’s car (the scream) and escaping bump another car(the alarm). See, Wishful thinking, a girl can dream. Obviously he do a Samuel Gordon (Black Mirror) but from a more high place. As the season was happenning it was becoming obvious he was getting to the point of no return. As soon as I see the character of Alec at the beginning I think Lucas replacement as Section leader. I’m going to miss Lucas, he simply goes to soon but I like Alec, so hopefully he will be part of the section next season. Definitely looking forward to see Season 10, to see what will happen with Harry and who will be in the section.
And finally Stargate Universe have done what I was beginning to think was impossible after Cloverdale, the episode I truly can’t digest. Amazing was that Trial and Error, a Groundhound day kind of episode, that usually I don’t like is the one that get my interest back. This episode was great, all the thing with Young was awesome. Even Chloe wasn’t so boring in this one. But is Trial & Error was great, The Greater Good was just amazing. Love it from beginning to end. Finally they use the stones and left the soap opera thing out of it(Visiting friends and family). Also I was looking forward to see Simeon strike. Since the Lucian alliance get on board I was waiting for some action between the two groups and it was obvious that Simeon was the baddie left behind. And one of the things missing in SGU by far was a villain, they have been fighting with each others but it isn’t the same. Simeon is I think the first true villain, so next episode looks like is going to be awesome, possibly the end of his character but probably with a bang. I hope they don’t kill him so soon let him do some more villains things. ja,ja,ja…. And hopefully he wouldn’t do a Samuel/Lucas I suppose a jump from space is worst. Definitely looking forward to Malice, the only regret is that I like both Ginn and Amanda. But is going to be interesting to see how the death of someone in a connection with the stones would play. Did it kill one or both? And again one thing the end of this episodes prove, no sappy song ending could replace an intriguing well acted scene. A well acted scene with a bit of music to set the tone is different. Spooks did it in the Season finale to a good effect. The montages of previous SGU episodes just were killing the excitement. Now I can say, I’m looking forward to see next SGU episode ASAP. A first in SGU, so kudos and well done. Hopefully it will be the first of many more.
Gracias a Halloween, pude jugar Alter Ego, uno de los juegos en mi lista de espera. Lo encontré en una venta de Halloween a un precio que no pude resistir. ja,ja,ja... El juego es bueno y tiene posibilidades de ser estúpendo pero me dejó confundida. The pros:historia, personajes, gráficas. Te mantiene inmerso desde el principio, excelente misterio. The cons: el final, fue como ver una gran trama desarrollarse revelando poco a poco un secreto para de pronto ver las letras el Fin. Definitivamente frustrante, así que si no hay una segunda parte, pobre Tim o tal vez deba decir pobre Detective Bristol. Si va a ver una segunda parte es tal vez más comprensible pero aún así muy abrupto. Espero que haya una segunda parte porque una de las cosas que me confundió durante el juego es el medallón de Tim. Desde el principio parecía que iba a ser algo importante que quizás iba a revelar algún secreto de él, pero según el juego progresó nunca se desarrolló en nada y es interesante ver que en el trailer del juego también es prominente. Así que ojalá tenga una segunda parte porque si es estoy y se acabó es una desilusión. En resumén es un buen juego, sólo que te va a dejar esperando por respuestas. A mi especialmente me encantó como la descripción de los asesinatos etc.. poco a poco iba pareciendo como que era un vampiro. Todavía me preguntó si ese era el caso. ja,ja.ja.....

En cuanto a series, esta temporada 9 de Spooks ha sido simplemente estúpenda, episodio tras episodio me ha mantenido en el borde de mi asiento. El final me tenía preocupada debido a la historia de Lucas. Y con razón, así que bye bye, Lucas. Aunque no vimos un cuerpo así que pueden traerlo de nuevo. ja,ja,ja... Después de todo hay muchas formas de explicar un grito y una alarma. Una de ellas, no brincó. Se va a la calle le roba el auto a una chica(el grito), escapando choca un auto parqueado(la alarma). Ven, ja,ja,ja.... Lo sé, estoy soñando. Es obvio que hizo un Samuel Gordon (Black Mirror) pero desde un lugar mucho más alto. Según la temporada iba progresando era obvio que estaba llegando al punto de no regreso. Tan pronto vi el personaje de Alec en el episodio no pude más que pensar el suplente de Lucas como líder de la sección. Definitivamente voy a extrañar a Lucas, simplemente se fue demasiado pronto pero Alec me cae bien, así que ojalá sea parte del equipo la próxima temporada. Esperando con ansias ver la temporada 10, para ver que va a pasar con Harry y el nuevo equipo.
Y finalmente Stargate Universe hizo lo que creía imposible luego de Cloverdale. Fue sorprendente que fuera Trial & Error, un episodio tipo repetitivo, que usualmente no me gustan. El que me interesará nuevamente en la serie. Este episodio fue buenisímo, todo el asunto y transfondo con Young fue estúpendo. Hasta Chloe fue menos aburrida en este episodio. Pero si Trial & Error fue bueno, The Greater Good fue simplemente estúpendo. Me encantó de principio a fin. Por fin usaron las piedras y dejarón el estilo de novelas que han asociado a estas(visitar amigos y familia). Y desde que introdujeron el personaje de Simeon, he estado esperando verlo en acción. Desde que los miembros de la alianza abordaron Destiny estaba esperando por ver acción entre ambos grupos y era obvio que Simeon era el tipo malo que se quedó a bordo. Y una de las cosas que Stargate Universe no tenía era un villano, ellos han estado peleando entre ellos pero no es lo mismo. Simeon en mi opinión es el primer villano real, así que el próximo episodio se ve estúpendo. Posiblemente el final de su personaje, pero definitivamente promete que va a ser increíble. Yo desearía que no lo maten tan pronto, que lo dejen hacer más cosas antes. ja,ja,ja... Y espeo que no haga un Samuel/Lucas, pues un salto desde el espacio debe ser peor. Definitivamente contando los días y las horas para Malice, lo único que no me gusta es que tanto Ginn como Amanda me caen bien(excelentes personajes). Pero va a ser interesante ver la respuesta a que pasa si una de las personas que esta conectada con las piedras muere. ¿Muere una o las dos personas? Y una vez más el final de este episodio demuestra que la música triste al final de cada episodio no puede remplazar una escena bien actuada que te deja con una intriga. Una escena bien actuada con un pedazo de música para crear el ambiente es distinto. Spooks lo hizo en el final de la temporada con un buen efecto. El montaje musical de los episodios previos de SGU estaba simplemente acabando con el interes. Ahora si puedo decir, que estoy esperando ver el próximo episodio de Stargate Universe lo más pronto posible. La primera vez en SGU, así que Kudos y bien hecho. Espero que sea la primera de muchas más.

I’m looking forward to Sanctuary Season 3 premiere, this series have become my sustitute for Stargate recently. It have Stargate actors: Amanda Tapping(Carter), Christopher Heyerdahl(Todd, Hailing),Paul McGillion(Beckett). Michael Shanks(Daniel) have guest star in it. And to make it more cool, Peter Wingfield(Tanith, Methos) and Jim Byrnes(Joe) from Highlander also have been in it. I’m crossing fingers to see in the future, Christopher Judge(Teal’c) guest starring in it too. I miss seeing him in tv. Lol! Very entertaining and great action. And the new season looks awesome, it will help me as I wait for SGU to move forward since it is so slow. SGU needs some of the energy this series have to be better.
Other series that have me totally hook is Spooks, I love Season 9 so far. It begins with action and ends with scenes of the next episode that left you wanting to see it ASAP. The new characters, Dimitri and Beth are great. And I intrigue with all the Lucas/John secret life. Definitely awesome, is like the new 24 for me. So far I have enjoy all four episodes on the season. A great contrast with Stargate Universe that begins Season 2 again two slow, a bit more interesting than Season 1 but still have much to improve. I definitely will love to see the music at the end out, it really don’t make for an interesting episode finale. I find that it takes a lot from the episode, that was the case in Awakening. That was a great episode until the song at the end again. Hopefully things will improve, there is potential but is a very slow progress. A first for a Stargate series. Looking forward to see David Hewlett(Mckay) and Robert Picardo(Woolsey) guest starring in it. And see what will happen with Telford, I’m sure they will see him again.
I love the season finale of Haven, I really enjoy this series. Is different but really have something that makes it interesting. Hopefully it will have a long life, so crossing fingers to Season 2. Since is so different I’m really afraid for its duration. The finale was awesome and I really intrigue to learn more about all the thing with Audrey and the tattoos of course.
And of course, looking forward to see the version of Syfy of Being Human. I know that it wouldn’t be as awesome as the original but I’m interesting to see what they will do with the concept. As long as they don’t give it to Ronald D. Moore, the concept is safe. ja,ja,ja….
As for games, since I have to wait to get the ones I have in my waiting list I enjoy free games online. The first I play is, The Curfew . This game is addictive. The pro’s: story, characters, concept, visuals. The con’s: is not a longer game. Very cool and is free so go play it. The second game is, Bow Street Runner . Another awesome game. Pro’s: story, characters, visuals, puzzles. Con’s: the same story too short. I could easily could keep playing Episodes of it. I love the mini-game of Slide Thrift. So go and try them, both are very cool.
Estoy esperando ansiosa la premiere de la temporada 3 de Sanctuary, esta se ha convertido en mi sustituto de Stargate recientemente. Tiene actores de Stargate: Amanda Tapping(Carter), Christopher Heyerdahl(Todd, Hailing), Paul McGillion(Beckett). Michael Shanks(Daniel) fue actor invitado en la misma. Estoy cruzando los dedos para ver en un futuro a Christhopher Judge(Teal’c) como actor invitado. Me hace falta verlo en tv. Lol! Es súper divertida y tiene una excelente acción. Y la nueva temporada se ve estúpenda, de seguro me va a ayudar a esperar en lo que SGU coge impulso porque esta un poco lenta. SGU necesita algo de la energía de esta para mejorar.
Otra serie que me tiene totalmente cautivada es Spooks. Me encanta la temporada 9, comienza con acción y termina con unas estúpendas escencas del próximo cápitulo que te deja queriendo ver el otro lo más pronto posible. Los nuevos personajes, Dimitri y Beth son estúpendos. Y me tienen intrigada con todo el secreto de la doble vida de Lucas/John. Es simplemente estúpenda es como la nueva 24 para mi. Hasta el momente me han encantado los cuatro episodios de la temporada. Un gran contraste con Stargate Universe que comenzo muy lenta para mi guesto de nuevo en la temporada 2. Un poco más interesante que el comienzo de la temporada 1 pero aún tiene mucho que mejorar. Una de las cosas que desearía que eliminen es la música al final de cada episodio, personalmente creo que le quita mucho al final especialmente luego de un episodio tan interesante como Awakening. Espero que vaya mejorando, definitivamente tiene potencial pero el progreso es muy lento. Si estoy esperando cuando David Hewlett(Mckay) y Robert Picardo(Woolsey) vengan como actores invitados. Y por supuesto ver que pasa con Telford, estoy segura que lo van a ver de nuevo.
Me encanto el episodio final de Haven, esta serie me encanta. Es diferente pero tiene algo que realmente la hace interesante. Espero que tenga una larga vida, así que cruzando los dedos para una temporada 2. Como es tan diferente me preocupa cuanto va a durar. El final de la temporada estuvo increíble. Me dejo intrigada por saber más de Audrey y por supuesto todo el lío con los tattoos.
Y por supuesto, esperando para ver la versión de Syfy de Being Human. Se que no va a ser igual de estúpenda que la original pero me interesa ver que van a hacer con el concepto. Mientras no se lo den a Ronald D. Moore, el concepto debe estar a salvo. ja,ja,ja….
